Dr. Kenneth Farr is a board-certified ophthalmologist with additional training in eyelid and facial plastic surgery as well as dermatology. Dr. Farr’s clinical interest include laser cataract surgery, LASIK, eyelid plastic and reconstructive surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham and completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina Storm Eye Institute. Prior to joining VisionAmerica, Dr. Farr served in the United States Air Force and worked for the Aerospace Medicine Division. He served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Nellis Air Force Base and directed the only Pacific Air Force medical division. Dr. Farr was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal of Excellence and has been recognized as a Leading Physician of the World in his field.

What do you love most about being an eye doctor/surgeon? My passion is eye surgery and helping others to have better vision. It is a privilege to serve my patients.

What career would you pursue if you weren’t in medicine? Biomedical Engineer

Do you have any pets? Yes, I have a golden doodle named Tex.

How do you like to spend your time away from the office? I enjoy spending time with my family and fishing with my dad on Lake Martin.
